As a composer/lyricist, Tyler Phillips has had his music performed from Sundance, to Austin & San Antonio, and from Los Angeles to New York City. At the age of 11 Tyler began playing a variety of San Antonio's clubs with guitarist Will Owen-Gage. The young musicians joined forces with songwriter/drummer/guitarist Niko Laven beginning a South Texas teenage blues movement led by their band, The Krybabies. In 2003, Tyler (as part of the Ashlee Rose Band) was selected as one of America's top teen bands by Seventeen magazine. In early 2004, Tyler released his first CD "Sugar For Alice". "Sugar" was a compilation of bedroom recordings written, arranged, and performed solely by the then 14 year old musician. As a composer, Tyler wrote and recorded award winning works for film and ballet. In 2005, his musical "Fairest of Them All" was chosen as part of the York Theatre's developmental reading series. As of 2008, five of Tyler's musical theatre works have been performed in San Antonio, Austin, and New York City. As a multi-instrumentalist, Tyler records new material constantly and is currently in the studio working on his second solo album. His live material ranges from solo acoustic to raw rock and roll fusing his own sound with those of Dylan, Cobain, McCartney, Zappa, Sondheim, and Costello. The sample recording you are listening to includes: "Perfectly Invisible" "Big Love" "20 Years Better" "Bless My Soul!" "The Beautiful Things" "River City Stomp (Live)": Featuring Trevor McGinnis, Sarah Smith, David McGinnis, Shayna Zalcberg, Kevy Bergman, Sam Calvert, Jackie Leonhard, Will Owen-Gage, and Ben Cardenas.
